Americans with Disabilities for Richardson

Although we are based in California, we are concerned with issues that affect Americans with disabilities throughout the country. We must get people to realize that issues that affect Americans with disabilities affect us all. For example, things like ramps that make the world accessible to people in wheelchairs are also used by parents with strollers and people with heavy handtrucks. And if people with disabilities are unable to work because employers won't hire us, or because of Social Security work disincentives, then everybody loses. The employers lose productive workers, people with disabilities lose all of the good things that come with work: not just a paycheck, but self-respect, and the ability to support our families. Finally, society needs to continue to support those who cannot work, due to disincentives and predjudice. Please join us!
