Group Profile
This group was founded in Virginia after the February State of the Black Union 2007 address in Hampton. The address was one of the 400th America’s birthday anniversary events that acknowledged the landing of Captain John Smith in Jamestown in 1607. Fort Monroe in Hampton is the birthplace of William Tucker, the First Black child born in British North America in 1624. This first African American family lived and prospered in Hampton and Newport News, Virginia. It is an appropriate place to launch this campaign support and champion a real agenda for the next President. Open to all who support Governor Richardson's campaign for the Presidency and advancing the concept of one not two Americas and the Black community agenda for affordable neighborhoods, economic prosperity, rural development, jobs, healthcare, education ,educational opportunities, environmental justice issues, international trade with developing nations, the AIDs crisis among other issue concerns that the next President must address.
