My Story: I am a disability rights activist living in Northern California. I have Cerebral Palsy and use a motorized wheelchair to get around. Recently, issues involving my wheelchair have forced me to quit my full-time job as a social worker. I do not know when I will be able to return to work, so while I am waiting for my wheelchair to be repaired, I would like to make Mr. Richardson aware of the issues facing people with disabilities in this country. Poverty, the lack of financial and physical access to healthcare, substandard education,predjudice,work disincentives, and many other factors affect our ability to contribute to society as many of us would like to do.
