My Story: I'm currently a grad student at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where I teach geography classes and am pursuing a MA in Geography. I got my undergrad in Geography and Urban Studies at the UI in Iowa City, but I started out in the art department and continue to produce artwork (though it doesn't quite pay the bills!). I've worked as an urban planner, for my hometown of 5,000 people, and for the Omaha Metropolitan Area Planning Agency, covering 5 counties and serving about 1 million people. I am on the Board of Directors of the Loess Hills Preservation Society - an environmental land trust and advocacy group focused on education and raising awareness about the Loess Hills of Western Iowa. I consider myself a rennaisance man trying to maintain a balance between political advocacy, prairie restoration, public service, education, painting, sculpting, writing, mountain biking, hiking and my family (my wife, two dogs, two cats).
