Profile

Location: Los Angeles, CA
My Story: David Buchanan's career has led him to pursue several opportunities across the United States , gaining valuable expertise in politics, sales, advertising, manufacturing, and technology. David earned his BA degree from Georgetown University in 1973 and received an MBA from Texas Christian University in 1988. David was a founding partner of 25 Metro, Inc., the first computerized yellow pages that directly connected users to businesses. The company was acquired by NYNEX in 1983. David took a position as principal and executive vice president of Action-Ravon Industries. His leadership helped the company emerge as one of the top ten advertising specialty companies in the United States . David has worked in Democratic presidential campaigns in a management role since the successful 1976 Carter campaign. Most recently, he has involved himself in political and non-political roles at the state and local level; serving as the Chair of the Venice Centennial, President of the Venice Chamber of Commerce, consulting on three successful legislative races in Arizona, and serving as the senior advisor to Congresswoman Jane Harman, Secretary of State Debra Bowen, and Los Angeles City Councilman Bill Rosendahl. David also serves as a member of the Democratic State Central Committee, the 53rd Assembly District Caucus, and the West Los Angeles Democratic Club. David is Marketing and Advertising Consultant, and a frequent speaker at Internet Advertising and Search Engine Conferences on emerging technologies, social networking, and interactive media strategies.
