Good Morning,

I am so inspired by the recent endorsements and media appearances of Governor Bill Richardson. Particularly, after the posting of Lee Iacocca's video endorsement (posted on the Governor's website), I wrote the following e-mail to my friends asking them to take a look at this outstanding candidate for President . . . many of my contacts are Republican. Take a read . . .

Dear Friends and Family,

I wanted to take a moment to share with you my enthusiasm for Governor Bill Richardson, candidate for President '08. He is running on the Democratic ticket, but represents many middle of the road, both Democratic and Republican values. He is drawing support from both parties including Independents.

As a Republican, I find Governor Richardson positive and interested in people and solutions to problems, yet, at the same time fiscally responsible. His background, experience, ability to bring opposing groups together, business experience including balancing budgets and fiscally moderate to conservative values with a focus on investment are some of the main reasons I am interested in his candidacy. In my opinion, we need his expertise at the top to put our country back on the right course through vision, collaboration and planning . . . economically, internationally, etc.

I thought I would pass along his website and ask that you take a moment and read through his proposals, experience, and listen to his most recent endorsement from Lee Iacocca, former CEO of Chrysler.

Thank you for taking a moment from your busy day to learn about Governor Bill Richardson. I am hoping, like me, you will seriously consider his candidacy and support Governor Bill Richardson in any way you can in the upcoming election.

Most Sincerely,
LOD5
Republican and Proud Supporter of Governor Bill Richardson for President

P.S. I have written this independently, so your e-mail address has not been shared with any organization. It would be up to you to register with the Richardson campaign for any updates and/or to make a contribution.

Update for Blog: I received many responses from contacts stating that as they begin to consider candidates in the upcoming Presidential election, they are definitely going to look at the Governor's website, credentials and put him on their "radar" . . . no one responded with a negative. I was very pleased that my "soft sell" approach got mileage. There were some I did not hear from, but I feel that I have put his name in their household. I will be following up with a telephone call and see if I can answer any questions in order to show my support. I encourage you to invite your friends to join our blog and invite you to send a note to your friends . . . you are welcome to borrow any or all of the text of my e-mail. I felt it was important to send this initial note out via "Undisclosed Recipients" with the "P.S. disclaimer" at the bottom of the e-mail. It was an invitation and I provided the website for each to peruse the Governor's platform.

Let's talk dollars: For those of us who are already on board, please consider sending the campaign a donation today! The Governor will get a spring board into the national arena with a good showing in any of the first primary states . . . any amount is helpful!!

With 60 days left before the first primary voices are heard, I think it is imperative that we work on getting Bill Richardson's name out on the national circuit . . . the media is beginning to do its best to promote his credentials . . . whatever their questions, he is very adept at turning the conversation into promoting his platform.

I welcome your thoughts and look forward to inviting others to our blog; Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike who are looking for Change and Experience. Remember, with Governor Richardson, you get both and no candidate is better qualified in either party. Go, Bill!

Respectfully and Most Sincerely,

Proud Republican Supporting Governor Bill Richardson for President
Hi Everyone,

Last weekend was a whirlwind, a perfect storm of Richardson events. We kicked off the weekend with an outdoor House Party here in Manchester. Gov. Richardson arrived and mingled speaking with everyone one on one before speaking to the crowd. There is nothing more important than meeting voters face to face and he hit a homerun.

Meanwhile, a group of enthusiastic volunteers were up bright and early to wave signs and cheer Gov. Richardson into the New Hampshire Democratic Party State Convention. A Richardson table was set up at the convention with literature, bumper stickers, signs and sign-up sheets. When the Governor arrived he was escorted to the stage by State Representatives that support Gov. Richardson. A large group of supporters followed with banners and signs. The Governor gave a fantastic speech and the crowd erupted. It was a mad house, even by New Hampshire standards...   Read More »
