My name is Bob Rodriguez, and I have volunteered with the Governor’s campaign for some five months.   The Governor’s campaign is not one that addresses the masses but talks to the people at the grass roots level on a one-to-one basis. The other volunteers and I are an important part of that outreach effort and we’re making a difference, while the staff has impressed me by their professionalism and contacts.

The enthusiasm, professionalism and motivation of all involved was recently brought into clearer focus during the visit of the Roadrunners, numerous volunteers who came from New Mexico to Nevada to engage in campaign activities for the Governor.

What a great group and what enthusiasm! We compared notes on voters’ reactions to the Governor, his perception in his home state and what their reception was among the voters they met in Nevada.  Overall they indicated that they were met with an eagerness to hear the Governor’s messages and platforms, a willingness to consider the Governor in the upcoming caucus and even some voters who indicated an interest in participating in future political events.

Their willingness to walk the area on a hot Nevada summer day, their reception by the voters they met and the  dissemination of information that they accomplished should increase the Governor’s recognition amongst the Silver Staters.  Hopefully as the campaign advances I hope to raise myself to their level in terms of commitment and dedication to the Governor’s mission in achieving the Democratic candidacy for President

I originally joined the campaign to have some role in advancing the nomination for a highly qualified candidate for the office of President. Although I initially was not aware of the Governor’s stands on all issues, I was aware of his job history and recognized that someone who had filled all these positions would have something to say.

As my awareness  of the Governor’s positions increased, I became more convinced that this was an individual who could positively influence the country’s direction in the next presidential term.  I therefore decided that I would avail myself to the campaign as often as possible to further the cause.  These few months in I am continually impressed by the comments of voters who I have contacted via my work on the phone banks.  His message is out there and Nevada is responding.  It’s exciting to be part of a campaign with real momentum.
