Gov. Bill Richardson's campaign swing through the Lowcountry last weekend was a huge success! After landing in Charleston Sunday morning, Richardson spoke at the Mount Mariah Baptist Church in North Charleston to over 500 church members. Afterwards he went to Robert Burton's home in Mount Pleasant where nearly 100 East Cooper Democrats were waiting for him. Later in the day, he went to Bowen's Island near Folly Beach where over 250 enthusiastic Democrats were on hand along with the terrific live music by Andy "Smokey" Weiner and Friends. The next morning Richardson met with leaders of the Lowcountry Hispanic Community at Santi's Restaurant on Meeting Street Road. Later in the day was the CNN - You Tube Debate at The Citadel, where Richardson was met by dozens of South Carolina volunteers proudly waiving Richardson for President Signs outside McAlister Field House.
Barbara Richardson was also in Charleston and spoke at a luncheon on Monday.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this visit such a success. We've got a great group of supporters in South Carolina and our numbers are growing everyday.
