Hi All:

I have a small question, I wasn't able to find anything on the issues page concerning small business owners.

I had a question from a small business owner in NH.
RE:
I am a VP from a small software company in S. NH and I
am interested in how the democrats will help the small
business man

Does anyone have anything?
Thanks,
Armando

Hi, Armando! You might want to send them this.

As a pro-growth Democrat, Bill Richardson understands that government has the ability to spur economic prosperity. He has cut personal income taxes across the board in New Mexico while turning the state's deficit into a record surplus. As the only Democratic presidential candidate with executive experience, he understands how to manage a payroll, balance accounts, and maintain growth while making fiscally conservative decisions.

As Governor, Bill Richardson has been leading economic development efforts that added jobs and increased incomes.
o Presided over a traditionally poor state economy and created over 80,000 new jobs – many of them in high tech industries.
o Reduced the unemployment rate to its lowest level in New Mexico history.
o Established job creation policies that helped New Mexico become 6th in the nation in job growth.
o Presided over a state economy that is now 7th in the nation for personal income growth.

Governor Bill Richardson has been creating incentives for high-quality, high-wage job creation.
o Established a specific tax credit for creating good-paying jobs.
o Made the rural jobs tax credit permanent.
o Created a three-year tax holiday for high-tech startup companies.
o Invested state money into local companies that showed promise in high-wage job creation.
o Used tax cuts not to reward the wealthy, but to reward employers for putting people to work.

As President, Bill Richardson will:
~ Convert the outdated Trade Adjustment Assistance and Unemployment Insurance systems into a single system that encourages New Economy retraining, expanded adult education, and traditional unemployment support.
~ Replace the Bush tax cuts with tax cuts tied specifically to job creation.
