Bill Richardson: Restoring the American Dream The Colorado for Richardson Blog: www.Colorado4Richardson.blogspot.com

To the Voters of New Hampshire:

Although I'm not a resident of your beautiful state, I - along with every other American (and in truth, every citizen of the world) - have a deep and vested care, concern, and involvement in the outcome of your primary this Tuesday.

You and your vote will forever change the future of our nation and the course of history.

We stand facing a defining moment - perhaps the defining moment - in this era of time. Who we elect to lead our nation - the world's only superpower - during these perilous times will shape the future of our nation and of the world.

This is not a decision to be entered into lightly. This is not a decision to make in flippancy or on the fly. This is not a decision that should be influenced by celebrities or the pop-culture pulse poll of the mainstream media.

This is a decision that should be made by careful examination of the candidates, of their experience, their values, their policies, and their plans, hopes, and dreams for the future of our nation.

We want change in this country. Yes. We do. But change doesn't have to be exclusive of experience. And experience doesn't have to be exclusive of change. To truly bring about effective, lasting change, one must have the wisdom and experience to know how to do so - and then the belief, courage, and conviction to make it happen. We face monumental problems at home and we face an ever more perilous international scene. To truly bring about the change we need to restore hope and prosperity at home, and to ensure security and peace in the world - we need a leader who has the experience to bring about this change.

Bill Richardson has the experience, the wisdom, and the understanding of the problems we face in this country, and of the crises around the world, to face them head on -- and he has the vision and passion for positive, hopeful, lasting change to usher in a new tomorrow filled with hope, peace, and opportunity. I know Bill Richardson. I trust Bill Richardson. And believe with every fiber of my being that he is the leader for this crucial, defining moment in time -- that he is the only leader who can truly bring both change and experience, unite our country, bring peace internationally, find lasting solutions to the problems we face, and lead us into a tomorrow of hope.

When the body of President Franklin Roosevelt was being taken by train back to his hometown for burial, the train stopped along the way and was greeted by supporters and mourners. A reporter noticed one man who was in a state of profound grief and asked him: "Did you know the President?" The man replied: "No. But he knew me." This is the type of President that Bill Richardson will be. He will be a President with a heart for the people - a President who knows you and who cares about making your life and this country better....of fulfilling a destiny, a mission, a promise first begun on these shores over 200 years ago. He is - and will be - a peacemaker. Governor Richardson has said that America should be the world's conscience. And I know that we will be - and we will move toward the promise and fulfillment of the hopes and dreams of generations - under his visionary leadership of both change and experience.

So when you go to the polls on Tuesday, please don't vote for what's hip or popular, or who's "cool", or who has the hottest celebrity endorsements. Envision both the brightest days and the darkest hours of our nation's history and then ask yourself which of these candidates has the vision, the compassion, the leadership, and the wisdom to guide us through such times. You're making a choice that will forever change and affect both American and the world. Search your heart. Search your conscience. I know you'll make the right decision.
Friends ~

Over the past several months, I have been serving as the Colorado Grassroots Director for our campaign...a position and opportunity which was an incredible honor, and for which I am profoundly grateful. I am now leaving this position to focus on other campaign-related projects. Below is my statement on my departure as Grassroots Director...

Thank you for your support and friendship.

Help Restore Hope and Promise to America -- Join the Colorado Bloggers for Bill and Action/Outreach Team

Friends -

I have a new volunteer opportunity to offer: I'm assembling a Bloggers for Bill program - an Action/Internet Outreach Team.

By joining this important team, you would be agreeing to frequently post pro-Richardson messages on Colorado political blogs as well as national political blogs. You would also frequently write letters to your local newspapers (and national publications such as USA Today, Newsweek, Time, US News & World Report, etc.). Additionally, you would be encouraged to call in to radio stations to help spread the good news about Governor Richardson's candidacy. Your goal, with each of these efforts, would be to positively talk-up the Governor, his ideas, policies, experience, etc -- as well as why you support him and feel that he is the right - and best - leadership choice for our country.

We will work on assembling a draft for you to use in these communications (such as when you send in LTE's) -- but it will also be important for you to add your own personal intonations to the letters, as we want these communications to come from your heart and not all sound exactly the same to the newspapers when they read them....I don't want them to think that we're just generating mass, non-personal mailings. ;)  One of the most awesome things about our campaign is the great heart and soul commitment, belief, dedication, and support of our volunteers: YOU.

This is an important and impactful way for you to volunteer your time to help Governor Richardson's candidacy.

If you would like to be added to our Action Team and Colorado Bloggers for Bill, please e-mail me (Michelle@RichardsonBringsHope.com) and I'll put you on the list!

Thank you so much for your continued support!

Together, we're going to change America!
