Just my little corner of cyberspace where I get to run my mouth about how great Bill Richardson is and why he should be President.
I just participated in a conference call with Gov. Bill Richardson and his campaign staff, and after listening to Bill speak, I am all the more motivated. I can tell by his voice that he has a real passion for public service, and truly wants whats best for the people. I enjoyed listening to him talk, as opposed to Hillary Clintons robot like speeches (sorry..lol)
What could make him any better of a candidate you ask? Well, he has the best plans out of any candidate, hands down. He wants to give tax cuts to people like you and me, and give tax cuts to businesses to help keep American jobs in America. The place I used to work at was forced to shut down because it was taxed to death and could not compete with overseas companies, now I think that if Bill was in office 4 years earlier, I might still be working there!
He has a plan to get us out of Iraq in 1 year. Obama, Clinton, and Edwards seem to be having trouble coming up with a solution. But Bill knows the only way to get the Iraqi government to come together is to end our military commitment, and place Iraq's future in the Iraqi's hands.
He strongly supports equality for all Americans. As a gay man, this means more than anything to me. I now have a candidate that truly cares about me, and doesn't just want to get my vote then throw me under the bus. But it's not just about support for gays, but it's also about Native Americans, my heritage is Native American so that also means something to me. He also fights for the Black and Hispanic communities as well, this man truly cares about ALL people.
He works to support my 2nd amendment rights. Even though I am not a hunter, I feel more secure knowing that I have the ability to defend myself and my home.
He has a strong background in diplomacy, quite possibly the strongest out of any candidate. If we are going to go the diplomatic route, we need a man that has been there. Bill Richardson has dealt with Saddam Hussain, and secured the release of prisoners from Iraq, he has helped negotiate a cease-fire in Sudan with Al-Bashir, and he has also negotiated with N. Korea and helped set up a Democratic governemt in the Congo.
He has the best plan for our border and illegal immigrants that I have heard thus far. A wall will solve nothing, we need people on the ground patroling. The government needs to issue ID's to illegals so that we can track them as they EARN their citizenship, not get it handed to them. They should have to pay their back taxes just like any of us would have to, they should know English, and the employers who knowingly take advantage of these people should be punished. Gov. Richardson understands all of this, and as the Governer of the border state of New Mexico, he has the experience in border issues that others do not.
Many people have said 'I like Bill Richardson, but i'm voting for Obama or Clinton, because he's not high enough in the polls'. People have also said 'Bill's the most experienced person, he would make a great VP'. Those statements are simply mind-boggeling, the only way for someone you like to move up in the polls is to support them and vote for them! And why should the most qualified candidate be Vice Presdident? He should be our leader!
I hope I am able to sway a few voters with my blogs and bullitens, because Bill Richardson is a man who truly has a passion and a plan for America, and we need to rally behind him and put him in office! Who's the best candidate for the job? Bill Richardson.
