I am not sure how to get this information out to the general public, but I strongly feel there is a media conspiracy against Bill Richardson. They have done their best to not mention Bill in print, TV or radio. With his 4th place finish in Iowa, they have to mention him and in last nights debate he was actually given equal time for the first time, but still the media overlooked him. When George Stephanoupoulos did his roundup, he did not even mention Bill. Please email or call the tv stations and demand equal time for Bill Richardson. In your letters to the editors, please point out the lack of coverage. If all the masses hear is Obama, Clinton and Edwards, they will never think to vote for Bill.
When George Bush first ran for President, I was so offended that I finally got involved as a volunteer for the Kerry Campaign. WIth each successive election cycle I have put in more time trying to get the direction the country has taken changed. For the first time I feel that there is a Presidential candidate that I can really support and that is Bill Richardson. I love his experience! He knows how the system works and despite the fact that the system could use lots of improvments there are more serious issues to deal with first and I think Bill can deal with them while working within the current system. Maybe he can work on fixing the system in his second term! I think that our greatest overall challenge as a country is dealing with Global Warming. We need to get out of Iraq so we can focus on this problem. We need a President who will be exceptionally supportive of research for alternative energy sources and who will support legislation to make all of our infrastructure more energy and water efficient. Once we are out of Iraq, we also need a President who can rebuild our relationship with the rest of the world. Bill is an experienced negotiater who is respected around the world. Bill's stands on other issues are also easy for me to get behind. As I read through the blogs, I saw Erica's "50 Things you can do to support Bill" and as a supporter of #47, I PLAN to get involved with Bill's campaign in mid-August. I hope those of you who are reading this, but have never been involved in a campaign will join me. There are always small tasks for those with only a little time and big tasks for those who have more time. Once upon a time I had never canvassed door to door, now I have even written my first blog. It isn't hard, it only takes a willingness to get involved.....so go for it!!! (written July 31, 2007)
